"The 2016 Cuvée Jeanne Marie, Foxen's GSM blend, is outrageously beautiful. Sensual, racy and perfumed, the Cuvée Jeanne Marie has a lot to offer. This is an especially racy, flamboyant Grenache-based wine, and yet all the elements are wonderfully woven together."

92 Points - Wine Spectator, Tim Fish

"Refined and expressive, with floral raspberry, smoky butter and orange zest flavors that build tension toward polished tannins. Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. Best from 2020 through 2026. 318 cases made. - TF"

91 - 94 Points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2016 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard is another hugely promising wine in the Foxen stable. Ripe, dense and racy, the 2016 is showing beautifully from barrel today. There is more than enough textural intensity and persistence to support many years of fine drinking. As always, the Williamson-Doré is the more fruit-driven and overt of the two Foxen Syrahs."

91 Points - Wine Advocate

“Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2016 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard has a dense nose of wild blackberries, blueberries, boysenberry, black cherries, olive, charcuterie, bitter chocolate and a coffee hint. Medium to full-bodied, it packs in the dark fruits in the mouth with savory accents to frame, firm, chewy tannins and good freshness on the finish.”

"The 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard Old Vine, Dry Farmed is one of the most compelling and arrestingly beautiful wines I have ever tasted from Foxen. Inky and explosive on the palate, with tremendous fruit intensity and fabulous balance, the 2016 is a real showstopper. Inky dark fruit, black pepper, lavender and sage build into the huge, explosive finish. The high percentage (75-80%) of whole clusters adds tremendous aromatic depth. There are just 180 cases of the 2016. If you can find it, get it!"

92+ Points - Wine Advocate

"Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard Old Vines is scented of bay leaves, roasted coffee beans, turned earth, olive and charcuterie with dense, spicy black fruits at the core plus notes of chocolate and dried flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it floods the mouth with wonderful layers of savory, spicy fruits, framed by firm, slightly chewy tannins and a long finish with good freshness to lift."

"The 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard is positively stellar. A rush of red plum, blueberry pie, leather, pomegranate and blood orange infuses this deep, super-expressive Syrah. A dollop (10-12%) of whole cluster adds energy. Next to the Williamson-Doré, the Tinaquaic Syrah shows a greater sense of verticality in its structure along with a brighter, more red-toned expression of fruit. I can't wait to taste it from bottle."

92 Points - JebDunnuck.com

"A blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier that spent 20 months in 80% new French and Hungarian oak, the 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard sports a deep purple color as well as notes of black fruits, charred earth, ground herbs, and pepper. Medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, and focused on the palate, it has ripe yet firm tannins, good acidity, and a great finish. It's tight, closed, and slightly compact, yet certainly has plenty of potential. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade."

91 Points - Wine Advocate, Erin Brooks

"Containing 7% Viognier, the 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard is deep ruby-purple with aromas of dried blueberries, dark chocolate, menthol, warm black cherries and blackberries plus notes of pepper. Medium to full-bodied, it gives up fresh blue and black fruits in the mouth with a firm frame of chewy tannins and great freshness, finishing long."

91 Points - Wine Spectator, Tim Fish

"Firmly structured, yet complex and precise, with expressive blueberry, orange peel and smoky pepper beef accents that build tension toward taut tannins. Best from 2020 through 2026. 430 cases made. - TF"
