" Moving to the two Chardonnays I was able to taste, the 2017 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard Block UU spent 8 months on lees in 20% new French oak 500-liter barrels. Caramelized apples, toasted spice, white flowers, and lots of minerality and iodine notes all emerge from this more structured, foursquare, concentrated effort that's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. It's a classic expression of this site and should keep for over a decade."

“The 2017 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard Block UU opens with notes of toast and a hint of gunflint, fleshing out on the nose to quince, baked yellow apple, peach and floral perfume with a touch of cream. Medium-bodied, it offers concentrated toasty fruits in the mouth and fresh acidity to lift the finish.”

"The 2016 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard comes from a site in the Santa Maria Valley and was aged 25% new 500-liter French oak barrels. This medium gold-colored effort offers a classic orchard fruit, white flower, brioche, and mineral-laced bouquet. It's medium to full-bodied, has beautiful purity of fruit and integrated acidity, with the rounded, sexy style of the vintage front and center."

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast, Matt Kettman
"Tightly wound, this bottling from one of the region's dry-farmed vineyards shows lime skin, lemongrass and Meyer lemon pith on the nose. The palate is loaded with fresh, tart flavors of wild lime and sea shells, wrapped in a chalky texture and jam-packed with textural intrigue and depth."

91 Points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2016 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard is very pretty. Sage, hazelnut and lemon confit give the wine striking aromatic nuance. Bright, translucent and delicate in the glass, the 2015 has a lot to offer. Own-rooted vines in this parcel always yield a distinctive Chardonnay, as is once again the case in 2016."

"The 2018 Chenin Blanc Ernesto Wickenden Vineyard Old Vines is a dense, powerful wine that shows the more savory side of Chenin off to great effect. Dried flowers, herb, almonds and mineral inflections give the Chenin its super distinctive personality. There is plenty of texture and depth, but the fruit is pushed into the background. The Foxen Chenin is one of the most distinctive wines in Santa Barbara. It is also an insane value."

91 Points - JebDunnuck.com

"Lots of spice, dried herbs, white flowers, and lemon curd-like notes emerge from the 2018 Chenin Blanc Old Vines Ernesto Wickenden Vineyard. This beauty is medium-bodied and has a wonderful texture, bright acidity, and a clean, juicy finish. It's going to shine on the dinner table."
